Bridging registration is Open!
At the May Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, we as a Service Unit come together to thank and recognize our registered adult SU 245 volunteers at all levels. These awards are coordinated by the Service Unit Managers, and nominations are welcomed.
Traveling Inspiration Award: Established in 1983, this award recognizes a volunteer who has lifted Service Unit 245 as a whole: someone who adds a kind word or encouragement, is eager to help, and adds positive energy to meetings and events. The recipient is selected by the prior year’s honoree, who also presents the award.
Helping Hand Award: Started in 1990, this award recognizes a volunteer who is always ready to lend a hand. It recognizes someone who has put forth extraordinary effort, volunteering over and above what is expected. This award is also selected and given by the last recipient.
Green Angel Award: The Green Angel is a volunteer who steps forward when help is needed no matter the task, and always has a smile on their face.
Outstanding Troop Leadership: This recognizes troop-level volunteer(s) who go above and beyond in providing a high-quality and scout-led program year to their troop. This is evident through attendance at monthly meetings, completion of trainings & paperwork, participation in and/or leadership of SU events, supporting their troop in planning outings, camp experiences and trips, and/or acceptance of new scouts when needed,
Outstanding Volunteer: This is recognition of a non-troop leader volunteer whose actions benefit the entire Service Unit and show a commitment to Girl Scouting through actions and sharing of expertise.
