Thinking Day 2014

                                   Thinking Day 2014

Cedar & Sound Service Unit 245

                  When: Saturday, February 22, 2014

Where: St. Thomas More, 6511 176th St SW, Lynnwood

Time: 1pm – 4pm.  The event will include an opening and closing ceremony.  The girls will visit all the country tables where they will do fun activities from each country.  There will also be an international food station where girls can sample food from different countries. Cost: $3.00 per girl plus a donation of gently used clothing.  Cost includes patches, passports and drinks.  Cost for adults who would like a patch is $1.50.

Junior troop and above are encouraged to present a country, although a troop can attend without doing this.  Girls will have fun learning about a new country and preparing their display.  There are 145 countries from which to choose (visit http://www.wagggs.org/en/world to see the list).  Please list your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice on the registration form. Countries will be assigned on a first come/first served basis.  Once your intent form is received, we will email you right away with your assigned country.

Tables will be provided for country displays.  Each troop representing a country will need a rubber stamp representing their country to mark the girls’ passports and a quick craft or activity to do while visiting their country.  Troops can also provide bite-sized samples of your country’s food for the girls to try at the food station.  This can be anything from a cookie or dessert to a main dish.

The intent form below is due as soon as possible, but no later than January 26, 2014.  All money will be due no later than the February 10th Volunteer Meeting.  Checks should be made payable to Troop 40283.  Forms can be given to Wendy Brown or mailed to her at 19421-52nd Ave W, Lynnwood, WA  98036.
