Service Unit 245
19th Annual Pinewood Derby
February 1, 2020, 12pm to 2pm
Do your Girl Scouts (grades 4-12) like to build stuff out of wood? Like some problem solving fun? Friendly competition? Like to design objects that go ZOOM?! This is a great activity for a girl and a special adult to work on together over school break and create a car for our SU’s 18th Annual Pinewood Derby on February 1nd. It takes at least 6 hours to build a car; more if you are aching to become the next PWD Cool Designer of the Year…..this is what you start with….
The Toy Shop is a community service organized by Edmonds United Methodist Church that serves families of the Edmonds Food Bank, Washington Kids in Transition, and others in the community during the Christmas season. Those in need are invited to attend a one-day event (Dec. 8) where volunteers provide hospitality and assist in helping parents to choose gifts for their children. They are expecting to serve between 800-1,000 children at the toy shop this year.
There are many ways to give: Drop off gift By Dec 1 at Edmonds United Methodist Church (828 Caspers St, Edmonds, WA 98020 Phone: 425-778-2119) M-F between Sam & 4pm or Sunday between 8am and noon.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles (with Boats on the side)
January 24-26, 2020
We invite all women leaders, assistant leaders and adult volunteers to a Women’s Weekend at beautiful Camp Lyle McLeod!
Welcome back to the school year and a new year of Girl Scouting. Has your troop considered participating in the Fall Product Sale? It’s an easy way to get some money for troop activities long before the cookie sale. To participate, all you need is a registered adult to be your troop Fall Product coordinator. It can be a troop leader, assistant leader, or parent helper. The time commitment is far less than what’s needed for the cookie sale. There are no site sales. The girls just take pre-orders from friends and relatives, then order the exact number of items needed, and collect the money when they deliver the items a few weeks later. Done! It’s not necessary for every girl to participate, but lots of them really like the incentive prizes.
