Darrington/Oso Disaster Relief:
Thank you to all of the volunteers, staff and members of the community who have contacted us about supporting the Girl Scout families and the communities affected by the tragic mudslide in Oso this weekend. We’ve heard back about more ways to help! The community is coming together to feed 200 displaced people every day. The Girl Scout North Regional Office in Marysville is accepting donations of dry pasta, bottled spaghetti sauce, canned chili and soups, paper products (plates, bowls, napkins and toilet paper) and plastic utensils during regular business hours. For more info on this effort, contact Hilarie Ayers at firstname.lastname@example.org or (360) 658-8083. If you prefer to make a financial donation, please consider supporting the Darrington Recreation and Education Foundation, which will be helping the affected families in the aftermath of this tragedy, through the Coastal Community Bank.
It’s no joke, membership renewal begins April 1st!
This year we will be rolling out a new incentive program that will reward troops and Service Units for renewing members prior to the early registration deadline in June. Free weekends at camp, STEM workshops, staff sponsored volunteer BBQs and more are among the awesome incentives we are lining up! Every troop and IRM that completes early renewal will also be receiving a patch for each member in addition to monetary cookie sale incentives you’ve received in the past! More information coming soon!
