Happy New Year! Ok, well it’s only September,

but it is a new year of Girl Scouting.

A resolution to make all the Volunteer Meetings in the

16/17 membership year is key to Girl Scout success.

Let’s get acquainted if you are new and let’s reconnect if you are a veteran.

  • Attention: Those troops who will be going to Fall Encamporee and Paula Bunyan will need to stay after the Volunteer meeting for a brief information meeting with  Linda Otto  or Ellen Govan.
  • Forms? What are they and do I need to fill them out. The correct answer is yes. Come learn more.
  • Fall Product Sale-Order taking begins September 30th. Leslie Kemberling is the go to person for information and product. Did you know your troop could earn $1.00 per package sold and it is the easiest product to sell?
  • Mark your calendars for January 27th-29th SU 245 Women’s Retreat. Cost is $55 and worth every penny. Flyers will be available soon.
  • Cascade Challenge for Cadette Scouts and older is set for May 19th-21st and is limited to 24 troops. Start talking to your troops if they are eligible to see if they are interested and get your spot early.
  • Check out cedarandsound.com for the most current information in Service Unit 245.

Can’t wait to see you at the April Volunteer Meeting!
Information, Friendship, Good Times

  1. May Dinner sign ups-save a spot and sign up to bring your favorite dish. Cookie Managers welcome too! Let’s celebrate a fantastic year.
  2. Be the first troop to sign up for next year’s SU 245 events. In order to “be prepared” signing up in the Spring will help in your troop’s planning. Target dates for Founder’s Day are October 24th or November 7th. Is this something your troop would like to do? Be the first to sign up!
  3. Fall Encamporee will be at Camp Mcleod, October 16-18th. A $50 deposit is necessary to give to Linda Otto at the May Dinner to secure your spot.
  4. Community Camp-update This is an individual girl event.
  5. Twilight Camp-it’s a coming. Inquiring minds want to know. Get the scoop.
  6. Cascade Challenge-have you turned in your paperwork yet? Don’t forget the Leader’s Challenge!
  7. Congratulations to all the volunteers who have given their time and dedication to your troops and Girl Scouting. We can only do this with you onboard. Feel the Love.
