Girl Scout Canoe Trips

Hello Service Unit 245!!

Fellow Northwesterner here…but I spend my summers working for the GS in northern MN, and I thought you might be interested in our one-of-a-kind wilderness tripping program we offer…multi day canoe trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness!  I guided for 5 years and have directed for 4, after getting my start as a paddler at River Ranch and then Robbinswold!  Please feel free to pass on this info to anyone looking for a travel and wilderness adventure that is safe, inexpensive, and FUN!!

GS:Seeking Creative Eco-minded Girl Scouts for Nov.service -Salmon habitat

Hello Girl Scouts!

We have been offered a fabulous opportunity to be part of the design team for an environmental project at Camp River Ranch in partnership with Sound Salmon Solutions (SSS).

Sound Salmon Solutions (SSS ) is a Snohomish County based  non-profit that works in the Stillaguamish, Snohomish and Island County watersheds restoring salmon habitat and educating local communities about salmon recovery.  One of their projects has been in partnership with our Girl Scout Council at our very own, beautiful Camp River Ranch near Carnation along the Tolt River.  SSS has been working on the Tolt River for the last five years, removing non-native plants and replanting the river banks with native trees and shrubs, this helps to provide healthy habitat for fish and other wildlife.   SSS is looking for a troop or individual Girl Scouts (about a dozen) to come together as soon as possible (November-December, 2014) on a quick turnaround creative project.
